Our homestead is at about 3000′ elevation in the Blue Ridge. Some days the clouds roll right onto the land and create a quiet dreamscape.
Out the back door the garden and yard were in soft focus. The chicken coop was barely visible and the little duck fence and house invisible.
The funny little evergreen on the bank took on a certain elegance.
The chesnuts at the other side of yard were their usual beautiful shapes with a new and perfect background. The trees on the east and west slopes looked magical.
The little dogwood out front with the birdhouse in its branches and the walnut made a lovely pair.
The walnut is always a pretty view from here.
Finally, one of the pair of sweet maples that grace the front porch with cool shade in summers now looked like a beautiful painting. Even in winter, oh the beauty around us all!
Thanks for visiting Five Apple Farm, temporarily located in the clouds.
love, Leigh

Such poetry! It is a treasure to know the trees by name, to call upon each special gift they provide. Your photo tribute is beautiful!

Leigh, what a gorgeous blog. Thank you for posting these pictures. I am looking out at mist and a radiant light right now and so grateful we get to live in these mountains. Blessings, Lynn
